Bring Me to Life

Claire sighed deeply and sunk down the wall, grabbing handfuls of her dark hair and yanking. How had Drake been able to see through her façade so quickly? She was no open book, and she had liked to fancy herself mysterious. He had found that door she had hidden away, locked inside herself, and thrust it open. He had found her deepest, darkest secret, buried where her soul should be.
And he still wanted to help her.
He still loved her.
"Wake me up," She begged softly, "Please save me."
This darkness was everywhere; it was surrounding her and she was enveloped in it. There was no escaping it. It was turning her inside out, and she was beginning to become just a shell of her former self.
Nothingness.
Every time someone called her name, she responded as though she was still Claire Boggess. Whatever life she still had was a lie now.
And this whole time she was disappearing she couldn't see that her saving grace was right in front of her. Without him, she was frozen. He was the only life in her dead world.

Days passed, and even though Drake tried to help her, nothing was helping. Then, all of a sudden, she realized that the thing that could help her wasn't material. All this time, it was right there in front of her.
Even in the dark.
Even when she felt like she didn't have a thought, a voice, a soul, He was there.
He wouldn't let her die, because there was something more beyond this.
He called her name, and for once, she was Claire.
Her life wasn't a lie anymore.
Little by little, day by day, the darkness around her was turning to light.
